No matter how good the adhesive is, it’s all for naught if the construction is not in place! Remember these key points for outdoor stone bonding:
1. Substrate preparation is the lifeblood! It must be absolutely clean, firm and dry!
Concrete/cement base: remove all dust, oil, mold release agents, loose particles. High-pressure water gun rinsing is fundamental! Mechanical grinding (e.g. angle grinder) if necessary opens up the pores and strengthens the bond. Thorough drying is the key! Newly poured concrete needs to be fully cured (usually 28 days or more).
Old stone/tiles: clean thoroughly! Remove dirt, moss, old adhesive residue, sealers, etc. All loose, hollow old material must be knocked out! Substrate needs to be level and firm. Rinse well with water and dry.
Timber (preserved wood/decking): make sure the timber is dry, stable and free from rot. Sand off any smooth finish or sealer to expose the wood grain. Remove all wood dust.

2. Choose the right Shark Adhesive product: Select the most compatible model of Shark Adhesive based on the type of stone (high or low water absorption, weight), type of substrate, construction environment (temperature and humidity), required open time, etc. Large slabs of heavy stone may require a higher strength model.
3. Mix well (two-component product): Mix component A (resin) and component B (hardener) strictly according to the proportions in the product instructions.
